The coloring experience was great. Absolutely everything i needed was included in the kit and the instructions made it very easy. There was more than enough color to cover all of my hair and then some. The quality of the barrier cream and cleaning wipe are superb; people could not believe that I did it myself. The color looks natural; the hair felt exactly the same as it does after a salon treatment. The shine, texture and vibrancy are impressive. Minimal color transfer even after the first wash. My only drawback was that the color didn't quite match what i was going for but i intend to consult a Madison Reed color expert to see if a better match can be achieved.

All you need is in one kit. The color is a little darker than what I normally get done at the salon, but I love it. (My husband likes it better than the salon color) I will definately use MadisonReed color again in the near future.

Madison Reed Rocks!!!
I have natural Dark Auburn hair, which is extremely hard to match!!! I'm in my mid 40's getting sum grays and nothing, I mean nothing covers, matches or lasts! Madison Reed is a Top Notch!!!!! I mean Top Notch hair color!!! I've paid to have my hair done used color from beauty supply houses and NOTHING EVEN COMES CLOSE TO MADISON REED!!! My hair looks like it did when I was in my 20's!!! Love the Color!
I love this color. However, it does not look the same on me as on the model. I have naturally medium brown hair with blond highlights. My hair looks darker brown, for the most part, with dark red streaks throughout. I love the way it looks, despite the purplish tint in the sun. It is not too dramatic of a change, which is perfect for me. I am 25, I do not have much gray hair but I think if I did it would have covered it perfectly.

Beautiful deep auburn
I am a brunette new to hair coloring and did some research to find a company that I thought would be best for my curly hair. Curly hair need lots of moisture so I was a bit worried that coloring it would damage my curls. I can say happily that after coloring with Portofino Red I have very soft healthy looking curls with a beautiful auburn fire. The strands in the sun looks extremely naturally highlighted and the there is no cheap look of bad boxed color. There was no bad odor, no stinging sensation- no worries!!! The after care shampoo and conditioner was really nice, too. I loved how you got this upscale feeling box with little extras like cream,wipes and two pairs of gloves as well as the normal color ingredients. I would describe this color as a deep chocolate brown with a fiery red overtone. The picture of the model is probably the color in the light because I think it looks more brown than red, on me at least. My skin is light so it ended up being a bit darker brown then my own hair. But my family agrees it looks very pretty. The staff were so approachable and helpful. I even got a personal thank you note! Who does that in today's business world?! I will be ordering again!
